MANILA, Philippines — Over a million Filipinos have already received their COVID-19 vaccine, Malacañang said Monday.
Presidential spokesman Harry Roque said that as of April 11, there are 1,007,356 individuals already got their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine while 132,288 people already got their second dose.
This makes the total number of COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in the country at 1,139,644.
Of the total, 965,169 doses were given to healthcare workers, which is the first priority in the government’s COVID-19 vaccination program followed by senior citizens and persons with comorbidities.
A total of 280,569 shots were administered in Metro Manila, Roque added.
The Philippines has so far received a total of 3,025,600 vaccine doses: 2.5 million doses from China’s Sinovac BioTech and 525,600 from AstraZeneca which was coursed through the World Health Organization-led COVAX facility.
As of Sunday, the Philippines has 864,868 COVID-19 cases, including 146,519 active cases, 703,404 recoveries, and 14,945 deaths.
