CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela — The city government has extended the lockdown in 27 villages until April 14, officials said on Sunday (April 11).
Mayor Josemarie Diaz said the localized lockdown involved 15 villages with high number of cases of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and 12 adjacent villages with moderate cases. These villages were previously locked down on April 1.
Local health data showed that the city has recorded 1,586 COVID-19 cases since last year, 279 of which are active. About 1,270 patients had also recovered from the disease while 31 had died.
The extended lockdown was meant to control the spread of the virus in the said villages, Diaz said.
