Pagasa: LPA outside PAR may develop into storm in 3 days
MANILA, Philippines — A low-pressure area (LPA) that may intensify into a storm in the next three days has been spotted outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR), according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa)
The LPA was last located 1,845 kilometers east of Mindanao, said Pagasa weather specialist Meno Mendoza in a weather forecast issued on Monday morning.
“Ang nasabing low pressure area ay posibleng maging isang ganap na bagyo sa susunod na tatlong araw, at sa kasalukuyan ngayon ay hindi pa ito nakakaapekto sa anumang bahagi ng bansa,” he said.
(This LPA may develop into a storm in the next three days, but at present, will not affect the weather in the country.)
Meanwhile, fair weather is still expected in Luzon and Visayas due to the easterlies or warm winds coming from the Pacific Ocean.
Isolated rain showers, however, may still occur in the afternoon and evening due to localized thunderstorms, said Mendoza.
He added that Mindanao will experience warm and humid weather with a higher chance of localized thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening.
