6 p.m. to 5 a.m curfew stays as ‘NCR Plus’ bubble shifts to MECQ

MANILA, Philippines — The curfew hours of 6 p.m. to 5 a.m. over Metro Manila and four of its adjacent provinces “remains as is” even under modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ), Malacañang said Sunday.

Presidential spokesman Harry Roque said mayors and governors have yet to agree on modified curfew hours, however, consultations are already ongoing.

“On curfew, while Mayors and Governors have not yet agreed on modified hours, it remains as is. Consultations already on-going and a decision may be made soon,” he said in a statement.

Metro Manila, Rizal, Cavite, Bulacan and Laguna, or known as the “NCR Plus bubble” will be placed under a more relaxed MECQ starting April 12 until April 30, Roque earlier announced.

As of Sunday, the Philippines has 864,868 COVID-19 cases, including 146,519 active cases, 703,404 recoveries, and 14,945 deaths.
