7 more COVID-19 patients die in Batangas province
LUCENA CITY — The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) death toll in Batangas province jumped to 168 after seven more confirmed virus carriers died on Saturday, April 10, authorities said.
The latest COVID-19 fatalities are two patients from Lipa City and one validated virus carrier each in Batangas City and in the towns of Bauan, Rosario, San Juan, and Sta. Teresita, the Provincial Health Office (PHO), on its 3 p.m. bulletin on Saturday, showed.
From April 1 to 10, at least 51 COVID-19 patients died.
Last year, the province recorded 364 COVID-19 deaths. The total number of COVID-19 fatalities in the province since the pandemic broke out in March last year is now at 532.
Batangas City has the highest number of fatalities with 98 followed by Lipa City, 97.
As of April 10, Batangas, still under the general community quarantine (GCQ) status, had 18,118 COVID-19 patients. At least 14,373 of them have recovered.
