3 establishments in Legazpi City on lockdown after workers contract COVID-19
LEGAZPI CITY — At least three establishments here were placed under lockdown after three workers (one worker from each establishment) tested positive for coronavirus disease, the Legazpi City Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Disease (IATF) said Sunday, April 11.
The City IATF has issued a temporary lockdown of the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) office located in Benny S. Imperial Drive in Barangay (village) Ilawod, and the Banco de Oro (BDO) branch and the Lucky Fortune Seafood Restaurant, both in SM City Legazpi Mall in Barangay Bitano.
City Mayor Noel Rosal, concurrent Legazpi IATF chair, in his advisory said the closure took effect on Saturday (April 10) to give sufficient time for the disinfection of the entire building and its premises and the completion of contract tracing and testing. He also clarified that although BDO and Lucky Fortune Seafood Restaurant are under lockdown, the SM City Legazpi remains open for shoppers and visitors.
The lockdown would be lifted once the establishments would have completed the contact tracing, testing, and the disinfection procedures.
As of Sunday, April 11, Legazpi City has recorded 541 total COVID-19 cases, 486 recoveries and 19 deaths.
