7 cops among 9 new COVID-19 cases reported in Calapan

CITY OF CALAPAN — Seven police personnel are among the nine new coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases that were reported in this city on Saturday, April 10, by the City Health and Sanitation Department.

The police personnel are isolated at the Philippine National Police barracks in Barangay (village) Guinobatan.

Of the nine new cases, seven are males while two are females. Their ages range from 22 to 69.

The eighth patient is a bank staffer from Barangay Tawiran while the ninth is a 66-year-old woman from Barangay San Antonio, a contact of a COVID-19 patient.

Six recoveries were also reported — five males and a female. The youngest is a seven-year-old boy while the oldest is a 75-year-old man, both from Barangay Sto. Niño.

Since the pandemic broke in March last year, the city has logged a total of 915 cases, 94 of which are active. The city also has had 805 recoveries and 16 deaths.
