Suspected drug pusher killed, another nabbed in separate stings in CamSur
LEGAZPI CITY — A suspected notorious illegal drug peddler was killed in a shootout with police anti-narcotics operatives while another was arrested on Friday, April 9, in separate drug stings in Camarines Sur province, a police report said Saturday.
Police operatives recovered from the drug operations 41 grams worth of P123,000 worth of suspected shabu (crystal meth) and a caliber .38 gun, according to Police Major Maria Luisa Calubaquib, Bicol police spokesperson.
In Libmanan town, Elcer Penaredondo, 37, resident of Barangay (village) Loba Loba, was killed in a shootout with police operatives in Barangay Bahay at around 12:55 a.m.
Police report said the suspect was selling drugs to an undercover police officer during a buy-bust operation before he started shooting at the police operatives.
Recovered from the suspect was a P48,000 worth of shabu and a caliber .38 handgun.
In Naga City, Melody Zales, 38, resident of Barangay Urban Pacol, was caught selling shabu to an undercover agent at around 10 p.m.
