MANILA, Philippines — Warm and humid weather over the weekends may be expected as the easterlies are back, affecting a huge part of the country, according to state meteorologists on Friday afternoon.

Reports from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) showed that generally, fair weather conditions would prevail as the northeasterly wind flow only affects waters north of Luzon.

Still, isolated rain showers and thunderstorms may still occur by afternoon and night, especially in the eastern areas, largely due to the easterlies’ moisture.

Despite the high possibility of rains, as of now, no weather disturbance has been spotted near or inside the Philippine area of responsibility.

For Saturday, temperatures over Luzon may hover above 30 degrees Celsius, as Metro Manila would have something between 25 degrees and 33 degrees, Tuguegarao and Laoag between 23 degrees and 32 degrees, Legazpi and Puerto Princesa from 25 degrees to 32 degrees, and Baguio from 16 degrees to 24 degrees.

Down south over Visayas and Mindanao, similar conditions would be felt as temperatures over Tacloban and Cebu range from 25 degrees to 32 degrees Celsius, 26 degrees to 32 degrees for Iloilo, 24 degrees to 31 degrees for Cagayan de Oro, 24 degrees to 34 degrees in Zamboanga, and 24 degrees to 33 degrees in Davao.

Pagasa said that no gale warnings had been raised as of now, as sea conditions would range from slight to moderate with the absence of a strong northeasterly wind flow.
