Coronavirus spreads to 4 Zambales households, infects 10

SAN ANTONIO, Zambales—The coronavirus that causes COVID-19, SARS Cov2, has spread to members of four families in the province, infecting at least 10 people, according to authorities on Wednesday (April 7).

Dr. Noel Bueno, provincial health director, said the infections among household members in the capital town of Iba raised to 16 the fresh COVID-19 cases in the province.

At the village of Sto. Rosario alone, four members of a family, including a year-old boy, tested positive for the virus after getting exposed to two previously infected relatives.

Four other people belonging to two households at the village of Dirita had also been infected after they were also exposed to family members carrying the virus.

A married couple had been infected at the village of Palanginan, Bueno said.

As of Wednesday, the province listed a total of 1,330 COVID-19 cases, 154 of which are active.
