All set for Fight Ground C’ships 3 slated Feb 17

The official fight card of the Fight Ground Championships 3 slated Feb. 17 at the Mandaue Cultural and Sports Complex has finally been bared.

Ten mixed martial arts matches will be showcased in this event organized by Back Fist Promotions.

Spearheading the fight card will the bout between undefeated Universal Reality Combat Championships (URCC) fighter Vaughn “The Spawn” Donayre and former Arkom Jukai fighter and well-known striker Romilo “Mad Dog” Esfra in the 159-lb division.

Donayre, a Brazilian Jiujitsu blue belter and PanAsian gold medalist in 2010, is fresh from winning over Hans Christian Lamanilao by technical knockout out in round 1 of the URCC Cebu Dominate 7 last Jan. 13 at the Cebu International Convention Center.

Esfra, on the other hand, already proved that size does not matter after he knocked down several bigger opponents last year, including Mark “The Terminator” Araneta in Fight Ground 2 last year.

Durex Dragon’s ace fighter Johnjier “The Dangerous” Torbiso will try to recover from his loss to SOMA Fight Club’s Joerick Rivera in Fight Ground 2’s main event at the San Roque sports complex in Mandaue last Nov. 26.

Torbiso will face Danny “The Tiger” Diaz Jr. in the 129-lb. division. Another URCC fighter Alde “The Pitbull” Zosa will be facing Durex Dragon’s Adamson “The Assassin” Torbiso in the 140-lb. division. Gino “The Projectile” Po will also fight Rannie “Mighty” Calunsag in the 140-lb. class.

Ramboo “El Cobrador” Galleto will fight Miguel “Cotto” Omboy in the 129-lb. division while Martin “Komodo” Lauron goes up against Marjun “The Humble” Ponce in the 129-lb. division.

Other matches include Xander “Sandman” Ymbong facing Bronze “The Lion” Diaz; Leo “Bullet” Rodrigo takes on  Don-don “The Innocent” Polistico; Benjie “Blade” Capisnon faces Niño “The Wonder Boy” Vanguardia while Pablo “Dragon” Santillan collides with Othello Victor “The Hitman” Largo.
