Surge in COVID-19 cases prompts lockdown of Bulacan town

ANGAT, Bulacan–The entire town has been on lockdown since April 6 until April 12 after a surge in COVID-19 cases, officials said on Wednesday (April 7).

Among the latest COVID-19 cases were nine municipal hall employees, said Mayor Leonardo De Leon in a statement.

De Leon also ordered the temporary closure of the town hall to give way to disinfection.

Movement between boundaries was banned during the week-long lockdown. Only essential travel would be allowed.

The town recorded 356 COVID-19 cases, 17 deaths, 209 recoveries and 130 active cases as of Tuesday (April 6).
