7 wanted criminals nabbed in Bicol

LEGAZPI CITY –– Police anti-crime operatives on Tuesday rounded up seven persons wanted for various criminal offenses in separate operations in five Bicol provinces.

The arrested suspects were facing complaints of rape, abuse of women and child, attempted and frustrated murder, arson, and illegal possession of firearms, according to Major Maria Luisa Calubaquib, Bicol police spokesperson.

In Lagonoy town in Camarines Sur, police collared Rodel Grengia, 42, on the strength of a warrant for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition around 11 p.m.

In Sipocot, also in Camarines Sur, Erwin Matia, 21, of Barangay Vigaan and tagged as the 10th most wanted person in the town, was collared at 10:30 a.m. at his residence for an attempted murder charge.

In Calabanga, Camarines Sur, Larry Bruña, 40, of Barangay Sogod, was nabbed at 9 a.m. over arson charges.

In Talisay, Camarines Norte, police arrested Arnel Ocampo, 34, of Barangay San Isidro. He was tagged number one wanted person in the said town and facing complaints about child and women abuse.

In Pio Duran, Albay, Joven Bosquet, 30, of Barangay Gaba, Rapu-rapu, who is considered the most wanted in the island town, was nabbed around 10:30 a.m. in Barangay Marigondon. The suspect is facing charges of rape.

In Matnog, Sorsogon, Jose Formanes, 37, of Barangay Cabagahan and tagged as the sixth most wanted person in the town, was nabbed around 4:30 p.m. at his residence. The suspect is facing charges for frustrated murder.

In Monreal, Masbate, Ronel Lazarte, 24, of Barangay Morocborocan, was nabbed at 9:20 a.m. for rape charges.

The arrested suspects were in police custody and awaiting court disposition.
