MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 5.1 earthquake struck off Davao Occidental on Wednesday morning, the Philippines Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
Information from the Phivolcs website showed that the earthquake struck 118 kilometers southeast of Jose Abad Santos town at 4:08 a.m.
It had a depth of 91 kilometers.
Phivolcs said Instrumental intensity I was recorded in General Santos City, Koronadal City in South Cotabato, and in Alabel and Kiamba in Sarangani.
Aftershocks are expected, Phivolcs warned.
