MANILA, Philippines — The Manila local government started distributing cash aid on Tuesday after the city received P1.523 billion from the national government on Monday evening.
The Manila social welfare and development said the cash aid amounting to P1,000 per person would be distributed in the covered courts of the respective barangays.
First to receive on Tuesday were some 28,000 families from seven barangays, including barangays 20 (zone 2), 56 (zone 5), 101 (zone 8), 118 (zone 9), 123 (zone 9) and 128 (zone 10).
For transparency, the names of the beneficiaries will be published without their addresses, said Julius Leonen, chief of public information office.
