DILG probes governor, 14 mayors who jumped vaccine line
MANILA, Philippines — The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) will look into the liability of 16 local officials who got vaccines against COVID-19 by allegedly jumping the line in the priority list.
Epimaco Densing III, undersecretary for operations of the DILG, on Monday said a governor, 14 mayors and a councilor had been asked to explain why they should not be sanctioned for getting COVID-19 shots along with health workers who were at the top of the priority list.
Densing said the local officials had been issued show-cause orders.
“We are very clear about the Department of Health memorandum on priorities of vaccination and this is something that we will have to uphold,” he said.
