Mandaue mayor isolates self after COVID-19 symptoms show

CEBU CITY – Mayor Jonas Cortes of Mandaue City, Cebu has tested positive for SARS Cov2, the coronavirus that causes COVID-19.

In a post on Facebook, he said he was tested after having symptoms last Sunday (April 4).

Cortes said he is currently on quarantine for mild symptoms of COVID-19.

He urged residents to continue heeding health protocols to contain the spread of the virus.

As of April 4, Mandaue has a total of 5,807 cases of COVID-19 but only 862 are active.

The city also has a total of 202 deaths and 4,743 recoveries.
