Boy with tumor needs help

A tumor as big as his head.

This was how doctors described what they found growing between the heart and lungs of Jesse Alfaro, 13, according to the boy’s father as he appealed to Inquirer readers for financial assistance to get his son treated.

William Alfaro said Jesse had undergone a six-phase chemotherapy at Philippine Children’s Medical Center in Quezon City, and that the best way to check if his son’s condition had improved would be through a CT scan.

“Something I can’t afford right now,” said the part-time bus conductor. A native of Catanduanes, the father of seven currently lives in Lucena City.
