MANILA, Philippines — The easterlies will bring hot and humid weather in most parts of the country on Easter Sunday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
Based on Pagasa’s weather forecast issued Sunday morning, the northeasterly surface windflow is affecting the weather in the extreme Northern Luzon, while the easterlies are affecting the rest of the country.
Easterlies are warm winds coming from the Pacific Ocean.
“Sa natitirang bahagi ng ating bansa, easterlies ang prevailing. Dala nito ang maalinsangang hangin at maalinsangang panahon especially sa tanghali at hapon,” Pagasa weather specialist Loriedin dela Cruz said.
(Easterlies are prevailing in the rest of the country. It brings humid winds and humid weather especially at noon and afternoon.)
Meanwhile, the northeasterly surface windflow does not have a huge impact except for occasional light rains, according to dela Cruz.
Specifically, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains is expected in Batanes and Babuyan Islands due to the northeasterly surface windflow, based on Pagasa’s forecast.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country, on the other hand, will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to the easterlies or localized thunderstorms.
