MANILA, Philippines—The city government of Taguig opened its third vaccination site, which is also the first community vaccination center in the City, at RP Cruz Elementary School in Brgy. New Lower Bicutan on Thursday.

Taguig already has two Mega Vaccination Hubs at the Lakeshore area in Brgy. Lower Bicutan and at the Vista Mall Parking Building in Brgy. Calzada.

Our target here is not only speed but safety, efficiency and accessibility.  Our mega vaccine hubs and our community vaccine centers will help us hit our objectives. This will open the opportunity for more citizens to get vaccinated,” said Mayor Lino Cayetano.

Around 1,000 senior citizens and persons with comorbidities were vaccinated across the three vaccination sites including more than 260 individuals at RP Cruz Community Vaccine Center.

As of Saturday 7,952 healthcare workers, or 98 percent of the city’s medical workers, from various hospitals have received their jabs.

Taguig has already been receiving its allocation of Astra Zeneca and Sinovac vaccines from the national government but the local government unit is also preparing to procure NovaVax, IP Biotech, Astra Zeneca, and Moderna branded ones.
