MANILA, Philippines — Hot and humid days are expected to continue well into Black Saturday as the easterlies or warm winds from the Pacific Ocean prevail, while Mindanao may see isolated rain showers due to the low pressure area (LPA).

Weather updates from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) showed that the LPA has not dissipated yet, now located 30 kilometers east of Zamboanga City.
It is still not expected to turn into a tropical cyclone, but it may cause cloudy skies and rains especially on the western and southern side of Mindanao, and over southern Palawan.
Temperatures may rocket to between 24 to 35 degrees Celsius in Metro Manila and Tuguegarao, 24 to 32 degrees in Laoag, 16 to 25 degrees in Baguio City, 21 to 31 degrees in Tagaytay, and 25 to 32 degrees for Legaspi and Puerto Princesa.
In Visayas, daytime would be hot as well, with Iloilo seeing temperatures playing around 26 to 32 degrees Celsius, Cebu with 25 to 31 degrees, and Tacloban with 25 to 32 degrees. For Mindanao, Zamboanga would have slightly colder lows at 24 to 32 degrees, compared to Davao City’s 26 to 32 degrees.
No gale warning has been raised in any part of the country as sea condition would be slight to moderate in the country’s surrounding seas. But Pagasa warned that the conditions over seas south of Mindanao may vary during thunderstorm activities caused by the LPA.
