Number of cops who died due to COVID-19 now at 39, says PNP

MANILA, Philippines — COVID-19 has claimed the life of another Philippine National Police (PNP) personnel, bringing the total number of deaths among policemen to 39, the agency said Friday.

Meanwhile, 89 more PNP personnel were able to beat the severe respiratory disease, increasing the total of recoveries to 12,801.

As of Thursday, April 1, the PNP said its total number of cases is at 15,329 following 230 new reported infections.

As of Thursday, the Philippines has 756,199 confirmed COVID-19 cases, with 138,948 active cases, 603, 948 recoveries, and 13,303 deaths.
