Cop chief, 29 others in Pangasinan town test positive for COVID-19
CALASIAO, Pangasinan –– The police station of Calasiao was closed for disinfection after its chief, 28 police personnel, and a detainee tested positive for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
Twenty of the policemen had been deployed as field training personnel.
They all have no symptoms but had been taken to a temporary treatment and monitoring facility, said Mayor Joseph Arman Bauzon.
“The local [Philippine National Police] will be setting up receiving areas for operational services outside of the station following the strict observance of the minimum public health standards,” Bauzon said in a memorandum.
The patients’ close contacts are being monitored for possible COVID-19 symptoms, he said. INQ
