Over 1,300 healthcare workers receive 2nd COVID-19 vaccine doses — NTF

MANILA, Philippines — More than 1,300 healthcare workers have already received their second dose of COVID-19 vaccine, the National Task Force (NTF) against COVID-19 said Thursday.

The NTF said 738,913 COVID-19 vaccines have already been administered across the country, of which 737,569 were first doses and 1,344 were second doses.

It was exactly a month ago, March 1, when the Philippines launched its COVID-19 vaccination program using China-donated doses of Sinovac’s COVID-19 vaccine called CoronaVac.

CoronaVac is administered in two doses, four weeks apart.

The Philippines is simultaneously vaccinating healthcare workers, senior citizens and persons with comorbidities.

With the recent arrival of one million doses of procured CoronaVac, the NTF said it is expected “to expand vaccination to more priority groups, thereby protecting more people.”
