11 COVID-19 patients die in Batangas; death toll now 466
LUCENA CITY –– Batangas province has recorded 11 deaths from the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), bringing the death toll to 466.
The Provincial Health Office (PHO), in its bulletin issued 3 p.m. on March 29, reported the deaths of seven patients in Batangas City (1), Lipa City (2), and the towns of Rosario (2), Lobo (1), and Taysan (1).
On March 28, the PHO also reported that three COVID-19 patients in Batangas City and one in Lipa succumbed to the illness.
The latest data showed that 102 patients had died due to the illness since the start of 2021. Last year, the province recorded 364 COVID-19 deaths.
As of March 29, Batangas, still under the strict general community quarantine, recorded 15,315 COVID-19 cases and 13,006 recoveries since March last year.
Batangas City has recorded the highest number of COVID-19 cases in the province with 2,749, followed by Lipa City, 2,072, and Tanauan City, 1,565.
Article continues after this advertisementFrom March 1 to 29, Batangas recorded a total of 2,309 COVID-19 cases compared to its February record of only 543.
The province still has 1,274 active “suspects” cases and 34 “probables”.
