Road rage suspect taken to hospital after bleeding

/ 02:52 PM February 07, 2012

MANILA, Philippines—Jason Ivler was to undergo another battery of medical examinations, including a colonoscopy, at a government hospital on Tuesday as he suffered bleeding after a major surgery.

Judge Luisito Cortez of the Quezon City court granted a request of Ivler’s jail doctors recommending the colonoscopy at the Quirino Memorial Medical Center. This is to rule out a possible case of ulcerative colitis or a kind of inflammation of the intestines.

His attending physician at the government hospital, Dr. Romeo Abary, will conduct the colonoscopy and a possible biopsy on Ivler.  He will be discharged on Wednesday.

Ivler underwent surgery to reverse a colostomy in December 2011 to allow him to defecate normally.

The road rage suspect is jailed at the Special Intensive Care Unit in Camp Bagong Diwa while he is on trial for the murder of Renato Victor Ebarle on a Quezon City street.
