Another lawmaker catches virus

MANILA, Philippines — Batangas Rep. Raneo Abu has tested positive for the new coronavirus, the fifth representative to get infected this month.

Abra Rep. JB Bernos, Leyte Rep. Martin Romualdez, Negros Oriental Rep. Jocelyn Limkaichong and Anakalusugan Rep. Michael Defensor also caught the virus. Since the start of the pandemic, the House has recorded 277 infections with 227 recoveries.

Last year, Sorsogon Rep. Ma. Bernardita Ramos and Senior Citizens Rep. Francisco Datol Jr. both died of COVID-19.
