TAGBILARAN CITY — An entertainer and local radio personality was shot dead by his driver and bodyguard in Barangay Mansasa in this city on Saturday night, March 27.
Rizalino Torralba, 42, popularly known as “Inday Ruping,” a local entertainer, eventologist, and disc jockey of station DYRD’s Kiss FM was found dead inside an inn at past 10 p.m.
The suspect identified as Andrew Fronteras surrendered to police 10 hours after the crime and claimed he accidentally shot Torralba.
In an initial police investigation, Torralba and Frontreras checked in at the Backpacker’s Inn in Barangay Mansasa after the victim had a show at a bar in the city.
Torralba and Fronteras then quarreled, prompting the victim to call his sister for help, police said.
A closed-circuit television camera (CCTV) footage showed Fronteras leaving the inn at past 11 p. m.
Listeners and fans were saddened after learning about the incident.
Aside from broadcasting, Torralba, a member of the LGBTQ community, was also in-demand for fiestas, weddings, gatherings and other occasions.
