Batangas lawmaker gets COVID-19

MANILA, Philippines — Batangas 2nd District Rep. Raneo Abu has announced testing positive for COVID-19.

In a Facebook post Saturday night, Abu said he tested positive after undergoing a swab test last March 25.

“Kinabukasan ay lumabas ang resulta ng aking Swab Test at sa hindi inaasahang pagkakataon ay nagpositibo ako sa COVID-19,” Abu said.

(The next day, my swab test results came out and unfortunately, I tested positive for COVID-19.)

“Sa parehas namang araw ay agad akong nagtungo sa isang Isolation Facility upang magpagaling kahit ako ay Asymptomatic,” he added.

(The same. day, I went to an isolation facility to recover even though I am asymptomatic.)

Abu urged those he had a recent contact with to follow quarantine protocols.

Other lawmakers who recently tested positive for COVID-19 were House Majority Floor Leader Martin Romualdez and Anak Kalusugan Rep. Mike Defensor.
