NBI to probe into death of Maguindanao massacre suspect
MANILA, Philippines — The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) will conduct a follow-up investigation into the death of one of the accused in the massacre in Maguindanao in 2009, an official from the Department of Justice said Tuesday.
Police Officer 2 Hernanie Decipulo jumped from the fourth floor of the Quezon City Jail Annex inside Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig Monday afternoon.
“We don’t know if he really jumped or there is a foul play,” Justice Undersecretary Francisco Baraan said in a phone interview.
Baraan said the incident was currently a police matter but that the NBI would follow up on the incident “because this is no ordinary incident”.
