PGH warns public on fake negative COVID-19 test results using its forms

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine General Hospital has warned the public against dealing with suspicious individuals offering fake coronavirus test results under its name.

In a statement posted on Facebook, the PGH said they have been alerted of “falsified or fake negative results using the PGH SARS-CoV-2 Reverse Transcription PCR Report forms.”

“We wish to inform everyone to avoid dealing with unscrupulous individuals and be wary of suspicious-looking RT-PCR test reports,” it added.

The hospital said those who want to verify COVID-19 results can send an email poswab.uppgh@up.edu.ph.

Some social media users have been warning about a scheme of falsifying swab test results, which is a criminal act, for travel and work purposes.

As of Wednesday, there are 91,1754 active COVID-19 cases in the Philippines.
