Occidental Mindoro has 5 new COVID-19 patients

CITY OF CALAPAN –– Occidental Mindoro recorded five new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases on Tuesday, the Provincial Health Office (PHO) reported.

In Mamburao town, the new patients are a 62-year-old man without symptoms and a 54-year-old woman who suffered fever, back pain, colds, headache, and body weakness.

The man is in the Mamburao quarantine facility, while the woman is at the Occidental Mindoro Provincial Hospital Isolation Facility.

In Rizal, a 29-year-old man, who had abdominal pain, also tested positive for the virus.

In San Jose, a 48-year-old man, who had a fever, was swabbed on March 22 and tested positive for COVID-19. He was admitted to the San Jose District Hospital.

In Abra de Ilog, a 21-year-old woman with a history of travel from Batangas on March 9, was swabbed on March 18. She has no symptoms.

Contact tracing is being done for the news patients.

The PHO also reported eight patients who had recovered from COVID-19, six of them from Mamburao and two from Sablayan.

Since the pandemic started last year, the province has recorded 370 cases, 53 of which are active. Occidental Mindoro also has 304 recoveries and 13 deaths.
