Bacolod mayor, 61 village heads defer vaccination plan

BACOLOD CITY –– Mayor Evelio Leonardia and 61 barangay captains of this city have postponed plans to get vaccinated against the COVID-19.

Dr. Edwin Miraflor Jr., officer-in-charge of the City Health Officer, said the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases reclassified local chief executives as “essential workers,” under Category A4, who is fourth in line to receive the COVID-19 vaccines.

Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque on Tuesday said the Palace would refer the case of mayors, who were vaccinated this week, to the Department of Interior and Local Government for investigation.
