LOOK: Pope Francis meets with Cardinal Tagle, college members

MANILA, Philippines — Pope Francis has met with Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle, along with priests, clergy and the laity, in celebration of the 60th anniversary of the Pontificio Colegio Filipinno.

According to a report by CBCP News, the meeting was held at the Vatican’s Sala Clementina Audience Hall on Monday.

In a separate post from the Ponfiticio Colegio Filipinno website, members of the college also gave gifts to Pope Francis, such as a woven hat and bag, a woven scarf, and a souvenir pen and refrigerator magnet from Friends of the Colegio, among others.

The Pontificio Colegio Filipinno, as per its official website, serves as the “Home in Rome” for Filipino secular diocesan priests, who are “carefully chosen and formally sent by their respective bishops to pursue further studies in the different ecclesiastical centers in Rome.”

The meeting comes after a week since Pope Francis presided a Mass in Vatican for the 500th anniversary of Christianity in the Philippines.
