Mandaue Drowning
AN 11-year-old boy was found dead, an apparent victim of drowning in barangay Pakna-an, Mandaue City, last Sunday.
Joshua Cabalan of purok Tangkong was found lifeless on the seashore by a resident.
His father Bobby Cabalan said the boy was a special child.
He told police the boy must have left the house by himself and gone swimming alone.
Cabalan said he was attending to some matters and didn’t notice his son’s absence.
Tanods were alerted by a concerned citizen about the discovery of a boy’s body past 3 p.m.
When the tanods went there, the father was already at the site crying over his son’s body.

Suicide in Talisay
An 18 year-old man was found hanging dead from a tree in sitio Mananga, barangay Tabunok, Talisay City, last Sunday evening.
Police identified the victim as Levy Rivera.
Police recovered a can of Vulcaseal below him, a household sealant that is sometimes sniffed like rugby.

Lapu Stabbing
Two construction workers were stabbed and wounded by still-unidentified men in a beerhouse in barangay Babag, Lapu-Lapu City, Sunday dawn.
Jery Onglao, 47, of barangay San Miguel, Cordova town, and a 17-year-old boy from barangay Canjulao, Lapu-Lapu City, were rushed to the Lapu-Lapu City Hospital.
They suffered stab wounded in different parts of their bodies.
Both laborers were drinking with co-workers when a group of men arrived
Some of the men mauled and stabbed the victims without provocation.
