Tacloban Mayor Romualdez injected with CoronaVac at home
TACLOBAN CITY—Mayor Alfred Romualdez got injected with CoronaVac, the coronavirus vaccine made by Chinese firm Sinovac, on Monday (March 22).
Romualdez, who earlier got infected with the virus, was injected at home in San Jose District.
The 58-year-old mayor earlier said he was willing to be injected with CoronaVac or any other vaccine brand to encourage city residents to take part in the vaccination program.
On Monday, 800 frontline and health workers from different public and private hospitals and employees of the City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office were injected with AstraZeneca vaccine.
The city government seeks to vaccinate over 1,000 health workers and other frontline workers.
Tacloban City received 3,164 doses of CoronaVac and AstraZeneca vaccines from the Department of Health.
