Nueva Ecija gov contracts COVID-19
CABANATUAN CITY –– Nueva Ecija Gov. Aurelio Umali on Monday announced that he had contracted the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
In a Facebook post, Umali said he initially tested positive for the virus through an antigen test on Sunday, March 21.
He said the result of his reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction test confirmed that he was infected.
The governor has started his home quarantine but would continue his work while in isolation.
It was not immediately known how Umali contracted the virus.
