JASON Canoy of the Omega Gym of Mabolo, Cebu City beat Along “The Boholano Bulldog” Denoy of Candijay, Bohol via 8th round technical knockout Saturday night at the Dalaguete Gymnasium.
It was an action packed bout but Denoy, who was bleeding from a cut, took hard shots from Canoy who clearly had the edge in the power department prompting Denoy’s corner not to allow their boxer to continue with the scheduled ten rounder.
Denoy dropped to 32W-10L-4D, 19 KOs while Canoy improved to 13W-2L-1D, 9 KOs.
Meanwhile, in the undercards, Boyce Sultan (6W-1L, 4 KO’s) suffered his first career loss after he was upset by Joash Apericio (8W-6L, 6 KOs) by TKO at the start of the 7th round while Arjan Canillas won by fifth round TKO against Rodel Wenceslao.
The pro bouts were supervised by Celso Miranda and Rolando Mendoza of the Games and Amusements Board (GAB) of Cebu. /Correspondent Rene Bonsubre Jr.
