Pampanga gets third batch of AstraZeneca, Sinovac vaccines
CITY OF SAN FERNANDO— Pampanga on Sunday (March 21) received 5,020 doses of COVID-19 vaccines produced by British-Swede drugmaker AstraZeneca and 432 vaccine doses from Chinese pharmaceutical firm Sinovac Biotech Ltd, which are the third set of vaccines to be allocated to the province.
The latest shipment from the Department of Health are for medical frontliners who have not received their first injections during the first wave of inoculations this month, according to Dr. Ming Ignacio, provincial health officer.
The initial sets consisting of 846 doses of the Sinovac vaccine and 5,130 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine arrived on March 8 and 12, respectively.
The 600,000 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine, which was purchased by the provincial government, are due to arrive in June or July, according to Pampanga Gov. Dennis Pineda. INQ
