The DOH’s record of new COVID-19 cases for Saturday is currently the highest the country has ever seen since the pandemic started. The new count topped 7,103 infections recorded on Friday, March 19.

The new all-time high record was also in spite of six laboratories not able to submit their data to the COVID-19 Document Repository System (CDRS) on March 19.

Of the new cases, 94.4 percent are mild, 3.1 percent are asymptomatic, 0.9 percent are critical, 1 percent are severe and 0.53 percent are moderate cases.

Nine duplicates, of which five were recoveries, were removed from the total case count, the DOH said.

“Moreover, 10 cases that were previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation,” the department added.
