MANILA, Philippines — Thirty-seven areas in Pasig City have been placed under “granular lockdown” for two weeks amid increasing COVID-19 cases.
Under Executive Order No. PCG-18, Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto said the 37 areas, located in 19 barangays (villages), were placed under granular lockdown following the recommendation of the Pasig City Health Department’s City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (CESU).
According to CESU’s data, there has been a 262.03 percent increase in the total number of cases in Pasig City in the last two weeks.
Sotto said the granular lockdown will be in effect for two weeks from March 19 until April 1, depending on the observation of the CESU.
