PH makes partial payment for 1 million doses of CoronaVac vaccine
MANILA, Philippines — The Philippines has already paid 15 percent of the P700 million procurement price for 1 million doses of Sinovac’s COVID-19 vaccine CoronaVac, vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. said Thursday.
Galvez said the government will pay for the remaining 85 percent once Sinovac is all set to deliver the vaccines this March 28.
“Meron tayong binayaran na sa Sinovac kasi meron tayong purchase agreement, we already paid, wired the money ‘yung 15 percent,” Galvez said in an interview over ABS-CBN News Channel.
(We already gave Sinovac payment because we have a purchase agreement. We already paid the 15 percent.)
“Once na prepared na, kasi ang delivery date natin is [March] 28, so ibibigay na natin yung another 85 percent. More or less ang ibabayad natin is P700 million.

The Philippines has secured 25 million doses of the CoronaVac vaccine which will be delivered to the country in several tranches.
