House Majority Leader Romualdez tests positive for COVID-19
MANILA, Philippines — House Majority Floor Leader Martin Romualdez tested positive for COVID-19, he confirmed in a statement issued on Wednesday night.
According to Romualdez, he received the results of his RT-PCR swab test on Wednesday. However, he said that he would have to go through another test on Thursday to rule out a false positive result.
Romualdez urged people who came into contact with him to have themselves tested too. The lawmaker said that he is feeling well despite showing symptoms of COVID-19.
“I urge everyone who had close contact with me to undergo RT-PCR test. Let me assure those who are concerned with my physical well-being that I am coping well despite experiencing symptoms of the disease, and that I am in high spirits,” he added.
Romualdez also assured the public that he would go back to work in Congress as soon as his physicians clear him of the disease. He is currently isolated and being monitored by his doctor.
