Coronavirus infects another Bulacan mayor, 5th since 2020
SAN ILDEFONSO, Bulacan–Mayor Carla Galvez-Tan on Wednesday (March 17) announced that she had tested positive for SARS Cov2, the virus that causes COVID-19.
Tan immediately suspended afternoon work at the municipal hall following the release of results of her coronavirus tests around 4 a.m.
In her Facebook account, Tan said the municipal hall would be on a two-day lockdown to give way to disinfection.
She asked offices in the town hall to operate with a skeletal workforce starting Monday next week (March 22) to render uninterrupted services.
The mayor said she got herself tested after experiencing body pain, sore throat and difficulty in breathing, which are some of the symptoms of coronavirus infection.
She was the fifth Bulacan mayor to be infected with the virus since 2020.
