LUCENA CITY –– At least nine more coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases were recorded in Marinduque Tuesday, March 16, bringing the total number of active virus carriers in the island-province to 11 from three a day before.
The Marinduque health office, in its bulletin issued March 16 said the nine patients – five male adults and four adult females – were the only “positive” among 34 new test results.
The new patients are composed of five residents of Sta. Cruz town, while the four reside in the municipality of Mogpog.
As of March 16, the province, which remains under the modified general community quarantine, still has six active cases in Sta. Cruz, three in Mogpog and two in Boac.
Health authorities also reported the death of a COVID-19 patient, bringing the total death toll in the province to 14.
The province has logged 302 total COVID-19 cases and 277 recoveries since the pandemic was declared in March last year.
