MANILA, Philippines — Negros Oriental 1st District Jocelyn Limkaichong has tested positive for the new coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
In a Facebook post on Monday, Limkaichong said she is asymptomatic and is currently in isolation in Manila.
“I want to be transparent that I am positive for coronavirus,” Limkaichong said.
“My family and all those with whom I had contact know about my health condition and I strongly urged them to be tested as well,” she added.
Limkaichong lamented that despite strictly following health protocols and being “extra careful” in public spaces, she still acquired the virus.
She then appealed for people not to take the coronavirus lightly, hoping people would realize that COVID-19 is very dangerous.
“To be safe from COVID, no less than an abundance of caution is necessary. The current outbreak is a matter that we must take seriously if we want to put an end to this pandemic,” Limkaichong said.
“I ask for your prayers so that all those affected with the virus will be restored to health soon,” she also said.
