Occidental Mindoro receives AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine

CITY OF CALAPAN – A total of 220 vials of AstraZeneca’s COVID-19 vaccine arrived in Occidental Mindoro province on Saturday, March 13, the provincial government said.

Occidental Mindoro Governor Eduardo Gadiano, the representatives from the Provincial Health Office and Department of Health (DOH) Occidental Mindoro received the vaccines which arrived via roll-on roll-off vessel.

This is the second batch of COVID-19 vaccine received by the province after the Chinese-made Sinovac vaccines arrived on March 5.

The AstraZeneca vaccines were sent to the municipalities of Lubang and Looc.

Each vial is equivalent to 10 doses which will vaccinate 1,100 individuals (2 doses per person). The vaccines will be used in the continuing COVID-19 vaccination rollout for all health workers in the province.
