Amid the continued spread of the new coronavirus in Metro Manila, the Dioceses of Cubao and Novaliches will suspend some religious activities and will livestream some Holy Week traditions for the end of the Lenten season on March 28 to April 4.
The physical gathering for “pabasa,” or reading of the passion of Christ, will be prohibited.
Pabasa as well as stations of the cross will instead be available online. “Penitentia,” or self-flagellation, and crucifixion are also prohibited.
Gathering on Palm Sunday and Easter Sunday will also be suspended.
The procession of religious icons, however, will proceed, but will be limited to a convoy of three vehicles. —Nikka G. Valenzuela
