Several health workers of the National Kidney and Transplant Institute on Thursday staged a noise barrage outside the hospital to demand the release of the P82-million budget that was supposed to cover their meals in the form of grocery items, transportation and accommodation allowance from Sept. 1 to Dec. 31 last year.
The total amount per employee was P38,500. The union and the hospital management agreed on February to release the benefits in the form of P18,500 worth of gift checks and P20,000 worth of cash. —NIKKA G. VALENZUELA
