SAN ANTONIO, Zambales—Two women from the province, who were set to leave for abroad, had tested positive for SARS Cov2, the coronavirus that causes COVID-19, on Wednesday (March 10), authorities said.
Dr. Noel Bueno, provincial health director, said one of them is a 73-year-old resident of the US who went home in this town for vacation in September 2020.
She experienced symptoms of COVID-19 before she got tested a a requirement for travel to the United States.
The other patient is a 38-year-old overseas Filipino worker in Sta. Cruz town. She has tested positive for the virus before her scheduled return abroad.
Both had to defer their flights and wait until they are cleared of the virus.
Bueno said another COVID-19 patient, a 40-year-old fish dealer from Sta. Cruz, was added to the growing list of infections in the province.
As of March 10, the province had 965 COVID-19 cases. Twenty-one of these are active, 921 are recoveries and 22 are deaths.
